Committed to CCNP

I was sitting in a livestream today with Chuck, Jeremy, Anthony, and Zach. Chuck said something about getting his CCNP if 1,000 people earned their CCNA. The crowd went nuts. And somewhere in that noise, I made a decision I've been circling for a long time.

I'm going for my CCNP.

Not because my job requires it. It doesn't. Not because 1,000 people hit some milestone—I'm not waiting for that. Because I've had the book. I've watched the videos. I've had the subscriptions. I've done everything around this thing without actually doing the thing.

My wife and daughter are in Korea visiting family right now. I have an abundance of time that deserves better than what I've been giving it.

So here's the public version: I'm buckling down. I don't know exactly when I'll take the exam. I don't know if I'll pass on the first attempt. But I know I'm going to sit the exam, and if the first time doesn't go my way, there'll be a second.

Anthony said doing hard things is worth doing. He's right. Sometimes you just need to stretch. Not later, not when conditions are perfect, but now.

If you're ready, I'm ready. Here we go.
